First and foremost, Pinterest is my best friend when it comes to everything ever. I make a moodboard for just about anything and guess what!?!?!? That includes my

music!! I try to encapsulate a feeling through imagery. Here are some images I've used in moodboards for my debut project:

                    

Tactics, Tips and Tricks!

1. STOP WRITING ABOUT A SPECIFIC TOPIC. 

Write to express a feeling. If you write about a topic, you'll never write anything in full. Art is up for interpretation, even to yourself. If you're thinking about a personal experience, think about the feeling you had in the moment and the feeling you have presently, then write something derived from the feeling. 

2. Analyze lyrics you love! 

Go to your favorite song streaming site, turn the volume off, and put on some songs you love... instead of listening to the song, read the lyrics. What do you love about them? How do they make you feel? Recognize patterns and allow yourself to learn!!! The more you assume you know less about something the more you learn. 

3. In a rut? Start with the title!

Find a phrase you like and write outward from that.

I was number 13 of her WORLDWIDE listeners on Spotify... Number 13 out of 13 million monthly listeners. That being said, I feel justified in stating my opinions on her newest masterpiece.

I'm going to be ranking all the tracks from favorite to least favorite + putting in my two cents.

1. The Governor's Waltz

WOW!!! Okay, so this is highly specific to me, and I'm aware of that, but a song rarely makes me feel like this... It's such a weird feeling I cannot explain, almost like I'm being transported to a younger version of my mind?? If that makes any sense at all, please let me know! Those songs are my favorite though, and I was so surprised to hear one from PHOEBE of all people. Examples of other songs that give me this specific feeling are "It's Raining" by Inara George, "Paper Bag" by Fiona Apple, and "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson.

2. Haunted

HOLY EARLY PHOEBE?!?!? It reminded me of the Killer EP like crazy omg. Steamroller especially. Like wow. Phoebe returning to her roots just as I was needing that "You're a brother to me, you're my partner in crime" back on Spotify. And this is close enough! Well done! 10/10

3. Never Going Back!

Oh my god!! The pain!!!! It's excruciating! Makes me think of the younger version of my family and a house I'll never come home to again. Getting older is an activity you never realize while it's happening. I never want to go back to that time, but I miss it. If I say much else, I'll start crying. 

4. Bobby

I'll be the one to say it... OH BO!!!!!!!!!! This is seriously the greatest thing that's ever happened ever. No matter how long the news has been out, I cannot believe that Bo Burnham and Phoebe Bridgers are together. You actually cannot imagine what that means to me.

5. Still Standing

Phoebe, you're making ME feel like I lost my dad?? Never include me in this again.

6. Liberty Tree

This album is so Killer EP, and I love it so so so much. ALSO!! BO MENTIONED AGAIN!!! I must say that Phoebe has done an amazing job of shifting toward a happier sound without abandoning herself. Beyond her signature sad sound, Phoebe has such a melancholic voice no matter what kind of production you put behind it... That's why "Silk Chiffon" is such a funny song. She sounds so out of place because her voice isn't right for that genre. Sometimes great artists just go full force pop album, and I hate it. And a plus side is that I LOVE this kind of happy song!!

7. Kill Me

Feels familiar and soothing despite how devastating it is. The only logical reasoning is that I am Phoebe's biological daughter. Must've been a lullaby she sang to me before she sent me on my own as a test to see if I could find my way back to her. I'm still drawing out the maps. By next album I'll have all I need to return home.

8. I Can't Wait

I'M NOT GOOD, BUT I'M BETTER! Sob. Mr Goose being included in this is just insanity. Phoebe knows her shit.

9. Lost Weekend

You know me so well, Phoebe... why is that?

10. Lost Weekend (Reprise)

11. Lost Boys

OH MY GOD. Brings me back to my liberty tree point. Perfection.

12. Panorama

I love it because it reminds me of FNAF... specifically 4 and Sister Location. I won't elaborate further because I don't know either.

There's not too much to say about this one! Haha, get it?

 Really cool as an intro. Not the kind of song I'd listen to beyond that.

16. As Above

ONLY MISS ON THE ALBUM. I hated this song! I'm so sorry. I loved the boygenius reference though. Honestly, my only skip of her entire discography.
